MSNBC From Bad to Worse
Massive layoffs on a sinking ship & the death of legacy media
As legacy media rapidly approaches its final resting place, next to the fucking Titanic… I am taking absolute joy at this point in the implosion of MSNBC.
For years I was a loyal viewer. I dealt with the fact that the noon hour had come to resemble the retirement home… kind of like our Senate is too. I think like everyone else our tolerance for the bullshit hit a crescendo when Joe and Mika went to kiss the ring at that roach motel Mar-A-Lago.
My very first viral video on YouTube, of course there was a whole group of horrible men in the comment section with unsolicited advice. The usual bullshit.
Looking back, you’d think with the ratings and viewership of Morning White Bread with ManSplain Scarborough and Talked Over Mika the smart choice would be to cut that dead weight. I mean, from a business standpoint and all.
That would be in a perfect world where the new President of MSNBC isn’t a Trumper. Over the weekend the news of the shakeups, layoffs, and some of the best shows in the primetime lineup cancelled. It was shockingly noticeable that one of the only black women anchors was on that chopping block. One of the most outspoken truth tellers on the network. Joy Reid.

I was so pissed, I actually made a video on a Sunday. Yes. I actually made a weekend video.
Further pushing legacy media into the grave. We will go where Joy goes. We will follow the truth tellers. We will not bend the knee to whatever you are trying to create now. It is a real shame for those left behind now. Rachel Maddow last night did use her platform to also voice her own displeasure at the shakeups. Especially the impact it is having on the actual staff. Not the personalities that you see on your screen daily.
Of course the full video is nowhere to be found because MSNBC isn’t going to air the most popular portion of Rachel’s show last night trashing them. But what MSNBC did share was this great piece from the farewell episode of Joy’s show last night.
I do encourage you to search around the internet for what Rachel had to say. I’ve seen it passed around on Tik Tok, and BlueSky a good portion of the day. (By the way… if you aren’t on BlueSky, you are soooo missing out!)
The amazing outpouring of support for Joy over the past 72 hours has helped remind me how important the independent journalism community is, and will remain while fighting back against this administration!

This is all part of the resistance America is showing those involved in this coup of America. It starts with the money, holding back our dollars from the oligarchy. It continues with the boycotting of their media Outlets as well as protests and showing up to their City Hall meetings and letting them have it. This will only grow. We have to keep pushing and go even further than this. I'm not sure where that will lead us, but this fall of MSNBC is definitely a very good thing.
I'm truly grateful for platforms like blue sky and substack that allow truthsayers and eloquent educated women to use their voices to support educate and give voice to women in the United States as well as around the world.
Boycott MSNBC and NBC and throw in CNBC
