What Happened?
Fucking White Women
It has taken me almost two days to comprehend what has happened since we last spoke. Emotions are all over the place as far as the eye can see. Medication has been utilized in probably unprescribed ways at this point. We are all wondering how we could all let this happen a second time.
Unfortunately as the results still continue to trickle in we are learning a couple things, and it all points to fucking white women… again.
White women and of course the fucking millions of democrat voters who stayed at home this time around. As if sitting this one out was the right election to try and stick it to the man. We could have been celebrating in the streets right now like we were after Joe Biden was elected. It was like the sun finally came back out. It was so close.
We all worked so hard for it. And to sit back and watch the news media talk about how the Harris campaign ran a “disastrous” campaign when three days ago they were praising every aspect of the campaign. The whiplash is so bad my fucking neck hurts. Which is it? Because y’all can’t have it both ways. We aren’t like the Trump supporters just lapping up anything you say.
It’s exhausting.
I’m exhausted.
We as a people are exhausted.
And disgusted too.
Tomorrow morning I am going to be recording an episode of Oz After Dark with a friend of mine, Allie who is a therapist. We are going to be discussing how we all can collectively work on getting through this while prioritizing our mental health surrounding the topic of “No is a complete sentence.” And in the wake of the election results.
We hope the episode will be ready to stream sometime on Monday. We are going to expedite it ahead of some episodes we recorded prior. We just feel that this one is so important it needs to be available to everyone sooner rather than later.

5th Time is a Charm
You see that little baby… that is yours truly. In fact, that is one of the very first family photos we would have. My mother to the left with her stellar 80’s hair, before that same cut morphed into a mullet for a short stint. Dirt stash? Whose lap I am sitting on.. older brother. Eh, minor footnote in any of this and non-existent in my adult life.

"Whiplash" is the one word I've been coming back to again and again to describe how I'm feeling. You're the first person I've come across who is using that same word. Indicating we had good reason to tentatively think we were trending in one direction, only to find the results supposedly went very strongly in the opposite direction. It honestly doesn't make any sense to me 🤯
So extremely hard to process this. I talked to family today in NJ. Some didn't vote. Some voted for Trump because they hate what they have there. I tried to explain how bad it was getting in FL. No one believes until they go through it themselves. Unfortunately we're all going to have to suffer consequences until they understand how horrible this will be. In the Northern states their ONLY issue is the cost of food or taxes. They still have the luxury of healthcare when needed.
