What a week and it is only Wednesday.
Who would have thought we would finally see the day that one of the many pending Trump criminal trials would actually happen. Well, I told you… this one was coming and it wasn’t going to get delayed.. I really meant it.
Towards the tail end of last week as we watched the Trump legal team make multiple last minute efforts to once again delay it was clear the Judge was absolutely sick of all the games and delay tactics. By Friday I told y’all it was all circuits go.
And here we are the first day with a breather because Wednesday’s are court administrative days, but at the closing of court yesterday Judge Merchan was clear, be prepared for opening arguments on Monday meaning he will have the jury sat by end of day on Friday.
At least that is his hope but with how quickly the first 7 jurors were sat, I don’t doubt that we will be ready to rock and roll on Monday.
So what do we know so far? Out of the seven jurors sat there is an oncology nurse, an English teacher, an information technology professional, a sales professional, two lawyers, and a software engineer. Now they need eleven more jurors to swear in by Friday.
During day one of trial before the jury selection process began there were a bunch of procedural motions the judge had to rule on, which also included denying Trump’s request to not be in court on the 25th so he could attend the oral arguments before the Supreme Court in his immunity claims case. The Judge denied that request reminding him that he is in fact a criminal defendant, and his attendance at that hearing is not mandatory. Nor did he feel the need to attend the last oral argument hearing he had before the same court.
Of course in an effort to spin the narrative he “stormed” out of the court which was really just him leaving for the day and complained about how unfair the Judge is being because he won’t let him go to his son Barron’s high school graduation. Which was also requested, but the Judge did not issue a ruling on that request saying that he would re-visit when the time came.
Now that he spun the narrative in the manner he has, I would not be shocked if the Judge denies him a second time. Although, I am not sure what high school graduation takes place during court hours. Can’t say I’ve ever been to one that I had to take a day off to attend. So, I’m sure somewhere along the line that is some kind of elaborate lie too.
Additionally on day one he was read all of his as a criminal defendant and what is expected of him as a criminal defendant during the duration of his trial.
Of course, we know any kind of rules he is going to want to break. It is just his nature being a giant man-baby.
Then onto day two where Trump straight up got in trouble with the Judge. During jury selection there was a juror who was brought in and questioned about a post on her Facebook once upon a time the defense brought up as a way to try and excuse the juror. During this, Trump audibly made noises, and said something loud enough that the juror herself could hear the comments. Immediately following this incident the Judge halted the current proceedings and admonished Trump’s attorney regarding his clients behavior.
Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche walked over to him and whispered something to him and then walked away. From accounts within the courtroom there was apparently a pretty sour look on Shitler’s face once that happened. This is probably the only time in his life he has ever been forced into following directions like this. He’s never really had any kind of accountability this entire life.
Additionally there will be a hearing next week regarding the multiple violations of the gag order Trump has already committed. The District Attorney has listed each, the judge will hear this on the 23rd at 9:30am.
All in all this kind of sums up the first two days. Just pace yourselves, it is going to be a long 6-8 weeks of trial and we don’t want to get burnt out. I know so many of us are already so cynical but I promise you the wheels of justice are spinning. They may be moving at a slow pace, but that is just the reality of the nature of the system. It is just how the courts are, especially post-COVID.
Poor Barron...how much you want to bet he doesn't even want his Dad there anyway lol! And while I'd like to think he's lying, in my town, we have 2 high schools. One graduates on a Tuesday and one on Wednesday. Both schools use the same local public auditorium, that is usually being used for other shows/events on the weekends, so graduation happens during the week. At 10:30 in the morning! Which is kinda dumb since most parents have to take the day off from work and siblings get to miss school that day. But it's been that way since before I graduated in 98 and they still do it that way now. But now that I think about it, our school district is one of the biggest in the state. Which is why we need the extra space for graduation. I imagine Barron attends private school, with a much smaller class size and doesn't need a larger space for graduation. So yeah, he's probably full of shit. Sorry for going off on a very long tangent for no real reason 😂 My brain just kinda took off on that one! Thanks for the update! I've been busy this week and haven't really kept up
I can't imagine being Barron and knowing how cruel kids are hearing all of the comments and taunts that are coming his way about his parents. This kid doesn't stand a chance.
